VANCOUVER, B.C. (December 21, 2022) — Nearly 95 years since launching in 1928, White Spot Hospitality is still a trailblazer, and now Canada’s longest-running restaurant chain has earned the distinction of being named ‘Regional Company of the Year’ in Foodservice and Hospitality’s 33rd annual Pinnacle Awards.
Recognizing the born-in-B.C. company for its impact on the industry, significant innovations and accomplishments, as well as its community spirit, the respected Ontario-based publication’s Pinnacle Awards took special note in naming its 2022 winners for how the hospitality businesses approached survival — and thrived — through the COVID-19 pandemic.
White Spot continues to position itself as an industry leader thanks to deeply-rooted values of supporting local growers, producers and suppliers, its team members, and the community as a whole through a number of initiatives, all while serving 17 million guests annually at its 130 White Spot and Triple O’s locations in B.C., Alberta, Ontario and Asia.
Growth has been a key focus for White Spot. Remarkably, they opened 10 new Triple O’s locations during the course of the pandemic, including four in Ontario, a rapidly expanding market for the brand. Not only did White Spot’s quick-service brand Triple O’s mark its 25th anniversary this year, but the company also launched another concept, R+D Kitchen by White Spot at the Amazing Brentwood in Burnaby. The new upscale casual test-kitchen restaurant features a mix of classic White Spot dishes with fresh, modern options for the next generation of guests.
White Spot remains committed to the career development of its team members. As the only restaurant in Canada that offers in-house Red Seal chef training certification, White Spot is dedicated to creating future culinary leaders through a program that allows team members to undergo career-enhancing training without having to leave their jobs, while also investing in growing its own internal leadership program.
In the community, White Spot is proud to continue its legacy of supporting numerous charitable organizations including Variety – the Children’s Charity, Food Banks BC and The Zajac Ranch for Children, as well as numerous other charities, hospitals, and causes in the regions it serves.
“Looking ahead to our 95th anniversary year, White Spot remains committed to continuing to make a difference in the lives of our team members, guests, and in our communities,” said Warren Erhart, President, White Spot Hospitality. “We are proud of our accomplishments and will continue to focus on innovation, growth, and leadership as the foundation for our future.”
